"Wear What You Dare...or Nothing At All! The only clothing requirement is your bowling shoes!" The original tagline for Wear What You Dare Bowling grabbed attention from over 1,200 visitors to the party's website.
"Whether small or large, black or white, short or tall, the body is a sacred part of life," says party organizer Deirdre Smith. "And when we use the body as a divine form of expression, humor can be a great way to facilitate the dance between mind, body, and spirit."
Piercing the Veil (October 2004 & 2005) (View Gallery)
Piercing the Veil is an annual Samhain celebration with the Sacred Mark Sanctuary. Each year, we embark on an underworld journey using ritual drumming, guardianship, and piercing.
In 2005, we mirrored the journey of Persephone, using temporary piercings to Pierce the Veil between this world and the next. Come to Piercing the Veil with an open mind and a sense of adventure…and wait for the possibilities to open to you.

Acknowledging the relationship between the body and the spirit, Flesh Rites encourages us to push our bodies' physical limits in order to destroy our attachments, misconceptions, misgivings, and fears regarding our physical form. This weekend-long intensive is designed to establish new relationships with our bodies.
In 2004, we used surface piercings as our vehicle to destroy preconceptions about our bodies and give birth to a new conception of our relationship between body and spirit, asking for the assistance of Kali in this death-rebirth process.
